We have never been more populated, 1997/2021

Title: We have never been more populated
Attributed date: 1997
Attributed to: Anonymous
Production date: 2021

The following pages were donated anonymously to The Atlas Group in 1997. A three-year research project yielded the following conclusion:

During the Lebanese wars, one right-wing Christian militia tried to breed species of invasive birds. The aim was to send the birds into its enemies’ territories in order to decimate that eco-system. The unit in charge of this operation kept detailed notes on all the birds they raised, and to which parts of Lebanon they were sent. Needless to say, the invasive bird strategy was a complete failure, and was abandoned after seven runs.

I might die before I get a rifle, 2004/2018

Title: I might die before I get a rifle
Attributed date: 2004
Attributed to: Hannah Mrad
Production date: 2018

In 1991, and after 14 years in the Lebanese Communist Party, Hannah Mrad was recruited into the Lebanese Army’s Ammunition and Explosives division. Months into his new assignment, he found himself unable to remember the names of the thousands of explosive devices he was meant to master. He began to photograph them, to enlarge them, hoping that his human-sized photographs would aid his memory. They didn’t and he was let go.
