Just in case #2

Just in case #2

Just in case #2 (2024) is composed from hundreds stories of displaced people forced to leave their homes, massively destroyed by Israeli bombs in Gaza this year. The work explores feelings of loss and exile through the pattern of the key – which runs through the artist’s work in various forms. Combining text and image, it invites viewers to discover the human story of each of these daily life objects: dates of displacements and destruction, actual place of living, Just in case #2 evokes forced homelessness.

Remnants

Remnants

Remnants (2024-ongoing) begins during the year 2024, while the territory of Gaza is being literally eradicated under Israeli fire. The artist is stuck to the news that arrives from his homeland, siderated by the scale of human and material devastation (almost an entire territory). The internet network sometimes lags and the download “images d’actualité” are not instantaneous, giving way to blurred images, as a spirit preservating, distancing filter.

Questioning photography and image is a leitmotiv in the artist’s work: are those nightmarish present scenes, reproduced in such a sweetly beautiful form, mirages or reality? Is it possible to represent such subjects? How such images are imprinted in our mind and memory?
