Lackadaisical Sunset to Sunset, 2022

Lackadaisical Sunset to Sunset, 2022

While a group of drawings relay the stories of those who have been displaced, the embroidered parasol structure focuses on the defiant stories of women who have resisted systemic oppression. One such story is that of a deaf woman, abandoned by her husband and forced to move with her children to a foreign country. The top of the tent features calligraphy, representing the Arabic names for each hour in a day or night.
