Between 1819 and 1845, James Mallord William Turner
travelled from London to Venice, many times, gathering and compiling
various landscape motifs in a vast number of sketchbooks. Around 170
years later, Hiroyuki Masuyama followed Turner’s footsteps and revisited
the original sites, searching to face Turner’s genuine perspectives.
This allows Masuyama to photographically reconstruct some of the most
remarkable works of Turner’s journeys from London to Venice. |
